Key Details

Amount invested: £112,000

Type of investment: Below-market interest loan

The need

Youth organisations often rely on fragmented tools like spreadsheets, emails and basic forms, creating inefficiencies and limiting the time staff can spend with young people. OneHive identified this as a sector problem, having experienced the same challenges when it operated as a tutoring organisation. While the impact is indirect, the potential sector‑wide efficiency gains across Camden are significant.

What the investment will do

OneHive earns revenue through subscription fees paid regularly by organisations using the platform and one off onboarding fees charged when new organisations join and are set up on the system. The organisation intends for subscription income to become its main, sustainable source of revenue over time.

The Camden Community Wealth Fund loan allows OneHive to roll out its platform to Camden organisations by covering onboarding costs and supporting further tech development. Features such as dashboards, automated data capture and personalised learning insights aim to reduce administration and support safer, more consistent programme delivery.

Impact in Camden

By automating administration and improving data collection, OneHive allows staff to spend more time supporting young people. A teacher reported that the platform allows them to “focus on students, not admin.” With this investment, OneHive plans to onboard 10 Camden organisations, reaching around 3,000 young people in the first year.

“We are proud to receive investment from Camden Community Wealth Fund’s Youth Fund – especially because young Camden residents were so involved in decision-making. If you’re a Camden organisation that is helping young people through confidence building, mental health support or diversity and inclusion initiatives, I’d love to hear from you!”
