Key Details

Amount invested: £75,000

Type of investment: Below-market interest loan and performance-tied loan

The need

Many young people in Camden who are not in education, employment or training struggle to find a safe, supportive route into work. Clime-it Brothers was founded by Mo, whose own lived experience drives the mission, to give young people mentoring, paid employment, retail training and creative design opportunities in a safe community space.

What the investment will do

The money is funding a shop refurbishment, a stock monitoring system and investment in online sales.

Impact in Camden

Clime-it Brothers works mainly with young men aged 16 to 24 from the area around Camden Market. Between July 2024 and October 2025, it worked with 16 young people across 94 sessions, combining paid shop-floor employment with its Academy training programme. Young people are paid £11 an hour, well above the £8 national minimum wage for 16-year-olds, plus commission if their own designs sell in the shop.

“You could really see how the academy has helped the young people, it was hard to believe the young people were going to make negative life choices and go down the wrong path especially with how confident and good they are at being on the shop floor. It was clear to see how genuine Mo is with the young people and how comfortable they feel around him.”
